The much-loved Amazon Prime is finally here in India and it is one of the most compelling services that Amazon has to offer.

- There will be free shipping on any ‘Amazon Fulfilled’ product with no minimum order value (currently you need to order items worth 499 rupees or more to qualify for free shipping).
- Members will get access to ‘Lighting Deals’ 30 minutes before it is available to any other buyer.
- Members can also get free one-day or two-day delivery without paying any extra charges. You can also opt for same day delivery by paying just Rs 50 (currently priced at Rs 150 for non-Prime members).
Note: Not all the products will get the benefits out Amazon Prime. You’ll have to look out for the ‘Prime Logo’ besides the product. Amazon plans to include more than 80% of their products under Amazon Prime, so it should be good value for money.
Introductory Offer: Those interested can immediately subscribe for Amazon Prime by just paying Rs 499 per year (after the offer ends, Prime will cost you Rs 999). Amazon is also offering a 60-day free trial service for those who wish to try.
The other point to note is the pricing is cheaper as compared to some other countries. In the United States, it costs $99 per year (approximately Rs 6,600 per year). That being said, US subscribers get all the above mentioned benefits plus they get access to unlimited eBooks, plus video and music streaming.
Is it worth subscribing to Amazon Prime in India? Well, we think Rs 499 is extremely cheap if you shop a lot on Amazon. Even if you buy 4-5 products in a year and opt for one-day delivery, it’ll cost you Rs 400-500. You can also try out the 60-day trial.
